We’re looking for a skilled and driven Mining Engineer with a strong background in gold mining to join our Open Pit team. This is your chance to contribute to a high-performing operation and make your mark in a company that values initiative, collaboration, and results.
The opportunity
- Develop and implement short-term mine schedules to guide daily and weekly operations.
- Work closely with operations to track progress, manage risks, and adapt plans as needed.
- Collaborate with geology, planning, and operational teams to align mine plans with resource data and production goals.
- Design and optimise drill and blast plans to maximise ore recovery and minimise dilution
- Maximise efficiency in drill and blast by conducting reviews and identify improvement opportunities.
- Work closely with the drill and blast contractor to ensure the contractor resourcing is managed and objectives are delivered in accordance with mid-term and long-term schedules.
- Support rolling 3-month schedules and report on plan compliance.
- Prepare and roll-out Daily, Weekly, Monthly production reporting as per operational requirements.
- Adjust pit and landform designs and produce reports outlining the changes for sign off by relevant parties.
- Plan and design mine layouts and infrastructure tailored to gold mining operations in conjunction with company policies and procedures.
- Initiate ground disturbance approvals based on planning requirements for pits, dumps, roads and rehabilitation.
- Assist mining team with design of roads, ramps and intersections to ensure compliance with Traffic Management Plan.
- Utilise the fleet management system to extract key performance data. Upload spatial designs to the system to assist the load and haul team to efficiently achieve designs.
- Undertake project work such as productivity and equipment utilisation improvement studies, dewatering designs and waste dump development strategies.

What you'll bring
- Site-based mining experience (gold preferred) in a fast-paced production environment.
- Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering or related field.
- Experience in open pit mine planning (desirable).
- Strong technical skills in mine design, drill and blast, and scheduling.
- Proficiency in Deswik, ShotPlus, and Microsoft Excel.
- Knowledge of Power BI (desirable).
- Understanding of WA mining safety regulations.
- Unrestricted Quarry Manager’s Ticket (desirable).
- Manual driver’s licence
